Joseph E. O'Rourke of Abington, age 83, passed away on September 12, 2022, Beloved son of the late Joseph and Mary; Loving husband of Elaine Fortune O'Rourke and brother in law to Charles E. Fortune Jr.; Cherished father of Sean O'Rourke and his wife Shawn Ferland-O'Rourke; Proud Papa of Delia O'Rourke, Quinn O'Rourke, Corey Ferland and Jesse Ferland. Loving brother of  the late Helen Doherty-Walsh; Beloved Uncle of Patrick Doherty, Brian Walsh, Caroline Rooks, Kathleen Gray, and Mairead Walsh.

Joe was a Franciscan Brother for 5 years in New York and Rye Beach, New Hampshire. He retired from Gillette South Boston as a manufacturing specialist. He loved to travel with his wife Elaine across the country. He was an active member of St. Bridget's Church in Abington as a Eucharistic Minister and maintained the church for many years. Joe had many hobbies over the years but his real passion was Ham radio ,W1CO were his call letters. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and watching football and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Quealy and Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington on Sunday, September 18 from 2 to 5 PM. A funeral mass will be held Monday, September 19 at St. Bridget Church in Abington at 10:30 AM.
