Judythe
Desmond
April 15, 1944 – September 1, 2024
Judythe Helene Desmond, of East Bridgewater, passed away on September 1, 2024. She was the loving daughter of the late Victor and Katherine Kroll and the cherished wife of Donald Desmond, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. Judy was the devoted mother of Mike Desmond of Middleboro, Matt Desmond and his wife Bryanna of East Wareham, Tim Desmond and his wife Brittany of Pembroke, Jill Carlino of Kentucky, Jackie Carlino of Florida, and the late Cathy Carlino. Judythe was the loving sister to Joyce Kroll Foster of NY. She was a beloved Grammie to many grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren and is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Judy worked at Verizon for 12 years before transitioning to a career as a real estate agent with Silva Real Estate. She was an active member of the Commercial Club and volunteered at many events. Judy's hobbies included painting, stained glass, knitting, sewing, karaoke, and sharing a glass of wine. She was known for her enjoyment of gossip, playing games like gin rummy, cribbage, and Yahtzee, and her love of reading great stories. Judy cherished her time at her family's cottage at White Island Pond in Wareham.
Judy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her conversations over a glass of wine, the advice she gave, and her willingness to listen will be remembered fondly. Known for her intelligence and her encouragement of others, Judy lived by the motto to listen more and talk less, though she would always let you know when she won at Rummy. We love you, Mom. Until we are together again, cheers to the greatest woman we will ever know.
Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, on Saturday, September 14, from 2 PM to 4 PM.
A celebration of life for Judythe will be held at the East Bridgewater Commercial Club following the visitation at 4PM.
