Julie attended Weymouth grammar and middle school, East Jr. High, attended Norfolk County Agricultural School and went on to Massasoit where she earned a degree in Graphic Arts. As a young girl she participated in brownies and girl scouts. She was quite artistic and won many awards for her oil paintings as a teenager. She was also a member of the Masonic Rainbow girls in Weymouth. After graduating, she worked at L. Knife and Sons in Pembroke as a sign maker. Julie was a Certified Nursing Assistant and PCA for 18 years working on the South Shore. She lived in Hull where she had many friends.
Her favorite Restaurant was Schooners and she loved the open mic music nights in Hull. She sat many hours on the A Street beach bench watching the ocean, drinking her coffee, and meeting neighbors.
She will be missed by her family and friends at the Quincy RLC, Bingo, Yoga, Abington Senior Center, TOPS, and Art at Whitman Senior Center.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday December 15 at Holy Ghost Church, Whitman 9am. Visitation Sunday from 2 to 5pm at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams St., Abington. Interment Braintree Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Recovery Learning Community(RLC), please make checks payable to the transformation center for the recovery learning community in Quincy at 98 Magazine Road, Roxbury, MA 02119. Cancer was part of her life but did not define her; RLC contributed largely to her well-being.
