June passed after a long illness on Tuesday May 6, 2025.
June was born to Edward and Rose Alvina McCarthy of Wollaston Ma, At the age of six her mom passed suddenly.
She was sent to live with a longtime family friend in Wollaston, Aunt Helen and Uncle Burt Muggah from Detroit MI. Aunt Phyl went to a family in North Quincy. Her Dad later remarried to Elizabeth McCarthy and reunited the siblings.
She had three sisters Phyllis (Mcarthy) Grayken of Cohasset, MA, and Nancy (McCarthy) Butz Naples FL, and Alvina (McCarthy) Glasco of Kensington MD.
She was introduced to John C Berlinguet Jr also of Dorchester. They wed and the growing family moved to Wollaston in 1960, and 27 years ago moved to Abington. John worked as a civil engineer for Star Market, DS Kennedy Antenna of Cohasset, GTE Sylvania, Massachusetts State College System, and returned to MIT where he retired 12 years later. June worked for the Telephone company as a phone operator, leaving the company to raise her 5 Children.
June loved to be together with Family either on Sunday dinners with Aunt Phyllis and Uncle John in Cohasset, the Thanksgiving Holidays in Maryland with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Hal, and summer rentals on Cape Cod. Best of all a combined Family vacation in Lake Willoughby in Vermont that gave us all fond memories for years.
June's husband John pre-deceased her. She leaves behind her children and their spouses Jean M (Berlinguet) Katarousky (deceased) and her husband Jay, John (Jack) C Berlinguet III and his wife Mary, Nancy (Berlinguet) Glover and her husband James, Paul J Berlinguet and his wife Laurie, and Joseph H Berlinguet and his wife Elza. June also leaves behind her nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The Family would like to extend its most heartfelt gratitude to Debbie Minucci of Nova Leap Home Health and the Nursesand Staff of the Norwell VNA and the Pat Roche Hospice House all of whom took such loving care of mom. In leu of flowers donations may be made to the Pat Roche HospiceHouse, 86 Turkey Hill Lane, Hingham MA 02043 or St Bridget's Church 455 Plymouth Street Abington MA 02351.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bridget's Church Abington on Friday May 16, 2025 10:30 AM.
