Justin Kavka of Pembroke, passed away December 14, 2022 after prolonged illnesses, age 71, Justin was a licensed HVAC Engineer and worked in the John Hancock buildings in Boston for 32 years. He worked at BID Plymouth (formally Jordan Hospital) for 12 years.

He loved camping with his family, hiking, walking the beach looking for the perfect stones or shells which he turned into "artwork". He enjoyed tending the vegetable garden and just sitting in the sun and swimming in the pool. He was a daily bird watcher. He just loved the outdoors and all the creatures in the woods. He was King of the Grill even on snowy days! Of course he always enjoyed gatherings with friends!

Justin is survived by his loving wife, Susan Patten Kavka, 3 children Jeanine Kavka Whitehouse, son-in-law Jeff Whitehouse, son Darrell Kavka, daughter-in-law Sarah Butler Kavka, son Jarrin Kavka, 2 grandchildren Josie Whitehouse & Jayden Whitehouse. Also sister Joy McCarthy & late husband John McCarthy of Topsham, ME and brother Jeremy Kavka (Nancy sister-in-law) of Ludlow, MA and sister-in-laws Gail Patten of Norwell,MA and Bev Patten of Mesa, AZ, Several Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces, Grand Nephews.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at the Channing Unitarian Universalist Church, 45 Webster Street, Rockland, MA on Sunday January 8, 2023 at 1pm, with a snow date of Sunday January 15 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Justin's honor to the Channing Church or the Mass Audubon Society.
