Laura Pratt (Maher), 67, of Brockton, passed away tragically on September 10, 2026, at Boston Medical Center – South in Brockton.
Born in Boston on April 24, 1959, Laura was the daughter of James E. Maher II and the late Rita (Pais) Maher.
Laura was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and fiancée. She was a dedicated caretaker of her father and was always there for those she loved. She was a loving and caring person who treasured her family and friends.
Laura was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, where she never missed a day of school, and Southeastern Technical Institute, where she became a Dental Assistant. She loved her career and especially enjoyed the friendships she made with her coworkers.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish and volunteered with the Breakfast Club, helping provide meals to those experiencing homelessness. Laura also had a great love for animals, especially her cat, Carl, and her canary, Shlomo, who brought her great joy.
Laura's greatest happiness came from spending time with her fiancé, Tommy, her daughter, Nichole, and her beloved grandson, Matthew. She will always be remembered for her kindness, witty sense of humor, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Laura is survived by her loving daughter, Nichole L. Manning (Pratt); her beloved grandson, Matthew W. Manning II; her fiancé, Tommy Lyons; her father, James E. Maher II; her sister, Deborah Heikkila (Maher); her brother, James E. Maher III; her dear friend, Kathy Colarusso; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and one uncle. She was predeceased by her loving mother, Rita (Pais) Maher, and her brother, Philip C. Maher.
Laura will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
