Laurence E. Fritz, of Whitman, and a former longtime resident of Abington, died peacefully at Southwood Skilled Nursing Center in Norwell on October 23rd.  He was the beloved husband of Kathleen P. (Downey) Fritz.

Born in Medford, February 20, 1941, a son of the late Edward O. Fritz and Florence L. (Sullivan) Fritz of Plymouth.

Larry graduated from Matignon High School and joined the National Guard in 1959, serving for two years.  Larry resumed his education, graduating from Boston College in 1963, marrying the love of his life, Kay, one week after graduation.

For more than 30 years, Larry worked at Armstrong World Industries in Braintree.  Larry had many interests in life; cooking, golf and photography. But this paled in comparison to his interest in the lives of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Larry was as devoted to them as they were to him. Larry will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Kathleen and their 3 children, Patricia (Fritz) Pladsen and her husband John Pladsen of Plymouth, Edward Fritz and his wife Mary of Grafton and Judi (Fritz) Ryan and her husband Mark of Whitman.

Also surviving Larry are his 7 grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, Katie, Jonny, Victoria, Mary Kate and Evan, and 2 great grandchildren Tessa and Griffin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours at  Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street Abington, MA 02351 on Sunday October, 27th from 2 PM to 5 PM.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday October, 28th at 10:30 AM, at St. Bridget's Church 455 Plymouth St., Abington MA 02351

A private interment will be scheduled at a later date.
