Margaret E.
Walsh
October 6, 1941 – April 7, 2025
Margaret E. Walsh of Whitman, MA passed away on April 7, 2025. She was born on October 6, 1941. She was 83 years old at the time of her passing.
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Margaret Elizabeth Walsh—a proud mother, grandmother, lifelong nurse, and the undisputed queen of cinnamon raisin bread with peanut butter.
Meg was born and raised in Brookline, Massachusetts, the only child of Margaret Dwyer. She was predeceased by her husband, Finlay Swan Walsh; her mother, Margaret Dwyer; and her dear aunt, Betty (Elizabeth Alfaro).
She spent most of her adult life on the South Shore, in Whitman and Hanson, where she raised her family and continued her life's calling: caring for the elderly as a nurse. Her kindness, dedication, and warm heart touched countless lives.
She was one of a kind—graceful, strong, and spirited—with beautiful gray hair, striking blue eyes, and a heart that stretched across generations (and pets).
She was the biggest fan of her children and grandchildren, never missing a recital, game, or moment to cheer them on. And if she thought the coach wasn't playing them enough… well, you were sure to hear about it.
She was also a softie for all the family dogs and—much to our amusement—a loyal fan of Jesse Watters and The Five.
Summers in Maine were her happy place. She loved sitting in the sun, soaking in the warmth, and watching the waves roll in.
She believed in traditions that made life feel special: saying "Rabbit" on the first day of each month for good luck, making sure everyone had an orange on New Year's Day, and always finding a reason to celebrate.
Meg is survived by her loving children, Colleen, Finlay Scott, and Mike; her daughters-in-law, Denise and Kristen; and her adored grandchildren, Shea, Abby, Cameron, Grace, Cooper, and Charlie. She loved each of them deeply—and made sure they always knew it!
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, hug your mom and eat some cinnamon raisin bread—Nana/Gammy would've loved that.
