Maria Rosa (Ameduri) Qualtieri, 88, of Abington, formerly of Revere, died peacefully on April 12, 2013 surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 5, 1925 in Italy, daughter of the late Francesco and Elisabetta (Agostino) Ameduri and came to the United States with her family in 1975. A homemaker, Maria cherished her family.
Devoted wife of the late Francesco Qualtieri. Treasured mother of Rocco Qualtieri and wife, Mela of Revere, Domenico Qualtieri and wife Teresa of Italy, Giuseppina Femia and husband Luigi of Abington, Luigi Qualtieri of Revere, Maria Teresa Fazzolari and husband Rocco of Abington. Also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Maria was an avid reader and shared a passion for crochet. She loved everyone who was in her life. Family being most important to her, she lived by the motto, "Better to be rich in blood, than in money—the bigger the family the better."
