Obituary

Marjorie Helen Merritt passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Sachem Rehabilitation Center in East Bridgewater, MA. Born on July 10, 1933, to the late Ivar and Helen Johnson, Marjorie grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts, and cherished summers in Rockport with her family and two sisters.

Marjorie was a proud member of the Brookline High School swim team, and her artistic talents brought joy to many through her beautiful designs. A passionate creative spirit, she also shared her love for music as a devoted member of her church choir and as part of a community group at Massasoit College.

Marjorie's career included roles as a secretary for INS. Investigations; and as an employee at Hanson Printing Company, where her dedication and work ethic shone brightly.

She is survived by her three beloved daughters: Leslie Palmer, Michelle Bump, and Jacqueline Merritt. Marjorie was a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.

Marjorie's warmth, creativity, and love for her family will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Quealy and Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington on Wednesday November 27, 2024 at 11 AM.
