Mary Jane Fortin, aged 89, died peacefully on October 21, 2018 with her family at her side. Mary was born on May 17, 1929, in Dennis, MA, the daughter of Mervin Sears and Myrtle Porter Chase.

Mary married the love of her life, the late Roland Edward Fortin, and together they built a successful business in Brockton while residing in Abington, MA. Their love of Cape Cod brought them to West Dennis where they built a beautiful home on the ocean and enjoyed spending time there with family and friends.

Mary is survived by her long-time companion, Otto Gregory of Spokane, WA. Her three children, Janice Nugent of Pembroke, MA, Roland Fortin of Bridgewater, MA, and Linda Smith and her husband Lenny, of Hanson, MA feel blessed to have had such a warm and loving Mom. "Gamma" was the proud grandmother of Mark and Sarah Nugent, Lisa Fortin Hurley and Jennifer Fortin Fox, and Julie Smith Heapes and Michael Smith. She delighted in the visits from her great-grandchildren, Patrick and Kaylin Nugent, and Avery Hurley.

There will be a private service for immediate family members on Friday.
