Obituary

Mary (McCormack) Melville of Abington, daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Corey) McCormack passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 16, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 49, almost 50 years Donald Melville. Mary had 6 children, Michael Melville (Tami Melville), Heather DeCarvalho (David DeCarvalho), Melissa Melville, JoEllen Chiusano (Joseph Chiusano), Phillip Melville, and the late Caitlyn Melville. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, David McCormack (Janice McCormack), Ellen Culley (Joel Culley), Robert McCormack (Paula McCormack) and Nancy O'Donnell.

Mary was a graduate of Abington High School and Northeastern University. She worked a Brockton Hospital as a Radiation Therapist. Mary enjoyed many things, but especially gardening and spending time in her beautiful backyard. Other activities she loved were going to the beach, puzzle books, playing scrabble, and drinking tea. Mary was a loving, supportive mom and gram, she was loved by all.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Wednesday January 20 from 5 to 7pm. Funeral mass Thursday January 21 in St. Bridget Church (455 Plymouth Street, Abington) at 9am. Please go directly to church and St. Bridget Church is currently operating at a 50 person capacity. Burial will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland. Please sign our online guestbook.
