June 10, 1944 – July 22, 2024
Maureen Dyer (Rayne) of Abington, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 22, 2024 at the age of 80. After a courageous battle with cancer. Maureen was born on June 10, 1944, in Brookline, MA. She was the Daughter of late Margaret V Rayne and George F Rayne.
Maureen is predeceased by the love of her life Dennis Richard Dyer, together they married for over 57 years and together for 61 years. Dennis passed away just this past April.
Maureen was the loving mother of Karen Dyer O'Leary, her husband Teddy O'Leary, Margaret St.John, Julie Riley and her husband Patrick Riley. Maureen was the proud Nana to Kayla Perry, Samantha St.John, Sarah St.John, Madelyn O'Leary, Michael O'Leary, Caroline and Grace Riley and Great Grandmother to Cameron, Mason and Emma Perry. She will be missed and loved by them all always.
Maureen grew up in a large family in Brookline with her Mother and 9 siblings including the late, Bob Hall, Fred Rayne, Paul Rayne, Frank Rayne, Billy Rayne and Maryclare Troiano who passed away in April. She is survived by sisters Eleanor Cahill of Burlington, Michael Rayne of Rockland and Kathy Gormley of Bonita Springs FL. Also survived by many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Maureen's greatest joy in life was her family nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her husband Dennis and the family. Whether it was family dinners, holidays or annual family camping trip, Maureen always had a smile on her face when her family was together.
An avid member of St. Thomas Moore parish in Braintree for many years, Maureen enjoyed active participation in parish life, teaching CCD and preparing young couples for marriage in pre-Cana sessions. Maureen and Dennis moved from Braintree to Abington in 2015 to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Maureen will be missed by all those who loved her. We take comfort in knowing Maureen and Dennis are together again holding each other's hands.
Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street Abington, MA on Monday August 5th from 5 PM to 8PM. Funeral will be held at St Bridget's Church in Abington on Tuesday August 6th at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
