Maurice E.
Morris
December 29, 1937 – September 12, 2024
Maurice Evan Morris, affectionately known as "Moe," passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dorchester, Moe later moved to Weymouth and eventually settled in Abington, where he spent the majority of his life. He had a lifelong passion for cars, owning two beloved street rods for over 50 years, and worked for many years selling auto parts. Moe was most known for three great loves: his family, his cars, and his service as a proud veteran of the United States Army. As a Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne, Moe served with distinction as a Paratrooper. He was deeply proud of his military service and carried the values of honor and dedication with him throughout his life. In April of 1966, Moe married the love of his life, Michelle Walsh. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising three children who became his pride and joy. Moe's love for his family was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. An integral part of Moe's life was his time with his car buddies. As a founding member of South Shore Street Rods since the late 1970s, he found great fulfillment in his shared love for cars. His garage was his sanctuary, where he spent countless hours tinkering with his vehicles and welcoming friends and family to share in his passion. Whether on road trips to car shows or sharing a cup of coffee with "the guys," Moe enjoyed nothing more than talking about cars, life, and family. Moe is survived by his children, Christine Brown and her husband Tim of Abington, James Morris and his wife Kristina of Whitman, and Joseph Morris of Abington. He was a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren: Garrett, Brooke, and Madalyn Morris, and T.J. Brown, all of whom he adored. Moe took great pleasure in driving his grandchildren to school and attending their various activities. His contagious laugh and love for playing games at family gatherings will be deeply missed. Moe's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched. His love of family, cars, and service will live on as a lasting legacy. May he rest in peace.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday September 28 in St. Bridget Church, Abington at 10:30am.
