Maxine M. (Kirk) Skillings, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday February 22, 2012 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of 66 years to Robert E. Skillings, beloved mother of Richard L. Skillings of IL , Gary E. Skillings of Abington, Stephen R. Skillings of Abington, Margaret M. Skillings of Abington and Marilyn R. Klien of Dorchester. Sister of Fay Montney of WA, Carol Williams of CA, Ina Fitzgerald of AR, and Beth England of NE. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Sister of the late Harley, Edwin, Lloyd and Lawrence Kirk. Maxine was born in Broadwater, Nebraska the daughter of the late Henry and Ellen(Mefford) Kirk. She moved to Abington 66 years ago after she married her husband Bob. She attended the University of Nebraska. Maxine was very devoted, kind-hearted, and compassionate to her family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday February 27, 2012 at 10:15 A.M. at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home at 116 Adams Street in Abington. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 3-7 P.M.-relatives and friends invited. Burial at Mass National Cemetery in Bourne following service.
