Michael Allen Kerr of Abington died on February 25, 2011 in the Brockton Hospital, Brockton, following a sudden illness.
He was born on March 14, 1952 in Brockton, the son of the late Richard and Jean E. (Collins) Kerr. He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. He worked at the Whitman DPW for 9 years, Hanover High School for 8 years and the Naval Air Station for 3 years. At the time of his death, Mr. Kerr worked as a driver for VHS Transportation, where he was employed for 9 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Beloved husband for 23 years of Judith A. (Pickering) Kerr. Step-father of James Leavitt of Rockland. Loving brother of Terry Kerr of Hanson, Joseph Kerr and his wife, Marianne of Rockland, Edward Kerr and his wife, Susan of Abington and the late Lawrence Kerr. Son-in-law of Grace Pickering of Abington. Brother-in-law of Bob Pickering of Whitman, Gary Pickering of N. Weymouth, Jack Pickering of Milton, David Pickering of Palm Beach, FL, Donald Pickering of Pembroke, Gayle Martz of Pittsburg, PA and the late Mark Pickering. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Service to celebrate the life of Michael will be held at the Lifequest Community Church, 356 South Ave., Whitman ( phone number (508) 825-3080), Saturday March 5 at 1pm. Reception to follow at the church and all are welcome.
