Beloved husband of Jane McAuliffe (McClellan) for the past 41 years. Loving father of Michael T McAuliffe III and his companion Amy Curtin of Rockland, Meghan (McAuliffe) Casagrande and her husband Kevin of Rockland, and Patrick McAuliffe and his wife Christine of Hanson. Adored "grampy" to Caileigh and Matthew Casagrande. Devoted brother to Dr. Maura McAuliffe of Greenville, NC and brother-in-law to Joan Stiles of Scituate. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mike was born on December 1, 1953, the son of the late John H. McAuliffe and J. Clare Gannon and grew up in Abington. Michael graduated from Boston College HS in Dorchester, class of 1971. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. One of Mike's proudest accomplishments was completing his college degree; in 2006 he graduated Magna Cum Laude from UMass Lowell with a degree in Information Technology. He was a successful, well respected business owner in the mechanical contracting industry for more than 35 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed cooking, traveling, cigars, and fine wine. Mike lived a life of service; he was a faithful parishioner at Holy Family parish, an active member of St Vincent DePaul society, and was a beloved "coach" to many for Rockland Youth Football. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours Tuesday, June 28th 4-8PM at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams St in Abington. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 29th at 9AM at Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland. Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
