Obituary

Michael Charles "Mike" Sheridan, age 68, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026. Born on October 24, 1957, in Washington, D.C., Mike lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, adventure, and a genuine love for people. 

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Sheridan. He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Sheridan (Daniel Lynch) and his son, Jameson Sheridan. He was a proud and loving grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Adelyn, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Mike is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Sheridan Mullen (Joseph Mullen); Patricia Diskin (Dr. Charles Diskin); and Carolyn Sheridan-Fernandez. He additionally leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. 

Mike graduated from Medfield High School (Medfield Massachusetts) in 1975 and later attended Keene State College. In his earlier years, he worked as a chef and restauranter in various ci es across the country. Those experiences reflected the qualities that would define him throughout his life: ambition, adventure, charisma, and an ability to connect with people from all walks of life. 

In 2004, Mike moved to Great Meadows, New Jersey, with his family. He built a successful and rewarding career as Vice President of Coworx Staffing Services, where he helped countless individuals find meaningful employment while building lasting professional relationships and friendships. Outside of his career, Mike was passionate about cooking and golf. In recent years, he discovered a love for duck hunting, often accompanied by his beloved Springer Spaniel, Daisy. 

Those who knew Mike will remember him as strong, outgoing, personable, and larger than life. He will be deeply missed and forever treasured. 

A visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington, MA on Friday July 31, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Followed by a memorial service at 12 PM in the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Abington. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations can be made to the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB in honor of Mike's memory and in support of its ongoing cancer research, treatment, and patient care efforts. O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center or mail to UAB O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center
