Obituary

Michelle E. Perrault, 74, of Rockland, Ma. passed away peacefully Nov. 16, 2024, after a brief battle with pancreatic related cancer with her husband of 48 years, Mark by her side. She was truly a remarkable human being- loving, capable, accomplished, ever the consummate professional and absolutely loved and adored by all who knew her.

Michelle was born in Bridgeport, Conn. Oct. 25, 1950 on her mother, Pauline's 21st Birthday. She was the oldest of eight children, attended Rockland schools, graduating from Rockland High, "Class of 68." She then went on to U. Mass, Amherst earning a B.A. in Sociology.

After marrying Mark in Oct. 1976, they moved to Los Angeles, CA. for Mark to pursue his career in the music industry and her to further her education. She received a Certificate of Business Management from U.C.L.A. and earned an M.B.A. in Marketing at Cal. State L.A. She was an instructor at South Bay College, Hawthorne, CA. She worked with the Century City Chamber of Commerce, L.A.; Public Relations Manager at Commuter Trans. Service L.A.; Then, Public Affairs Director at the National Fire Protection Assoc., Quincy Ma. 1990- 1991; and she had her own management/ consulting firm MEP Consulting 1992- 2002.

Michelle was a beloved, award winning college instructor/ advisor for nearly 30 years at Curry College, Milton, MA. She was Academic Coordinator, Business Management Internship Coordinator and also Director of Career Services and Experiential Education at Curry 1998- 2010. But teaching was in her blood. Her father was professor and chair of the Math Dept. at the former Boston State College. She loved the academic environment, working with her many colleagues and staff and so enjoyed the countless students she had instructed over the many years. They could always talk to and receive sensible advice from  "Professor Perrault".

To merely say she'll be missed by her large family, dear friends and numerous admirers would be doing an injustice to her lasting legacy. Michelle was the epitome of a caring, loving, supportive, empathetic, trustworthy, always there for you kind of a person- ready with an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on. Always the wise one you could seek guidance from. She suffered no fools, but was always kind and fair.

She heaped hours and hours of entertaining and scrumptious food over the years on many a happy guest. She was quite the talented chef in her kitchen. You always felt comfortable and made so welcome in her and Mark's home.

Both the Perrault and Cunningham families are truly broken hearted and crushed  to say the least at the sudden loss of Michelle, but we are all so enriched and thankful for the grace she bestowed upon us.  She will never be forgotten, she'll never be matched and she will always be in our hearts and loving memories forever. To know Michelle was to love Michelle.

Michelle is survived by her adoring husband Mark Cunningham of Rockland, MA; sister Diane Perrault and her husband Mike Ezekiel of Wilmington, N.C; sister Kathleen (Perrault) Canizaro and her husband Richard, also of Wilmington, N.C; brother Brian Perrault of W. Palm Beach, FL; Denice Perrault of China and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Dr. William E. Perrault, the founding Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery and her mother Pauline (Davey) Perrault, both of Rockland and E. Dennis; sister Maureen Perrault, brother William "Rex" Perrault and brother Stephen Perrault, all of W. Palm Beach, Fla.

In lieu of flowers we ask you to make a contribution to an educational program or meaningful charity of your choice. Make a difference in someone's life as Michelle did in so many countless ways.
