Milton Babcock

Milton J. Babcock, of East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 86 years old.

Born on September 28, 1939, in Boston, Milton was the beloved son of the late Milton M. Babcock and Ann Babcock. He was raised in East Milton and later made his home in East Bridgewater, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and the things he loved most.

Milton proudly worked for many years as a member of the Boston Bricklayers Union. A skilled craftsman with an unmatched work ethic, he took great pride in his trade and earned the admiration and respect of his fellow workers throughout his career.

Milton shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Mary Babcock. Together they built a lifetime of cherished memories, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to one another and their family.

In addition to his beloved wife, Milton is survived by his loving children, Joseph Babcock and his wife, Heather; Philip Babcock and his companion, Shannon Riley; and Laura Hopkins and her husband, Stephen. He was the proud and devoted grandfather of Brandon Hopkins and Jonathan Hopkins, who were among his greatest joys.

Milton was the beloved brother to the late Paul Babcock and his wife Sylvia Babcock, Claire Tinory. As well as the late Carol & Richard Ayer and the late Rick Tinory. As well as many nieces and a nephew.

Milton was truly one of a kind. Blessed with an adventurous spirit and extraordinary mechanical talent, he had a lifelong passion for restoring antique automobiles, finding immense satisfaction in bringing treasured classics back to life. There was rarely anything he couldn't repair, build, or figure out. Whether helping a friend, tackling a new project, or sharing his knowledge with others, Milton's generosity and willingness to lend a hand never wavered.

Above all, Milton treasured his family. He found his greatest happiness in the time spent together, creating memories that will forever be cherished. His quiet strength, kind heart, sharp wit, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Milton's legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, integrity, and unwavering devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington, MA on Thursday July 23, from 4 PM to 7 PM. A Funeral Home service will be held on Friday July 24 at 11 AM. Followed by interment to follow at Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater, MA.
