Myrtle R. (Dalton) Byrne of Abington, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 25, 2010 in the HarborHouse, Hingham. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late William and Mildred (Miller) Dalton. A homemaker, she was a resident of Abington for 44 years. She was famous for her Faberge-style decorated eggs. She loved cooking, singing, joking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of almost 67 years, William T. Byrne; her cherished children: Kathleen M. Godbout and her husband, Lee of N. Weymouth, Ellen L. Delany and her husband, Phil of Abington, Robert Byrne and his wife, Gwen of Dorchester and the late William "Tommy" Byrne, Jr. Grandmother of Kevin, Keith and Wayne Godbout, Andrew Chiocca, Mike and Steve Delany, Jean Messer, Rick and Rob Byrne. Great-grandmother of 8 and great-greatgrandmother of 15. Loving sister of Thelma Carey of FL, Peg Bonebrake of IN, the late William, Robert, Eugene, Edward, Richard, John and Dorothy Dalton, Evelyn McCarthy, Mildred Gray, Madelyn Garland and Brent MacKinnon. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams St., Abington, Wednesday at 8. Funeral Mass in St. Bridget Church at 9. Visitation Tuesday, 4-8.
