Neal F. Donovan of Weymouth and Sagamore Beach beloved husband, father, brother, "gramp", "papa", uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at home July 17, 2013. He was born Oct. 9, 1933 son of the late Cornelius and Ethel Donovan and attended Weymouth schools. He served proudly in the Navy during the Korean War. He traveled extensively throughout the states , went on many ocean cruises, enjoyed fishing, and getting lobsters out of Onset Bay. Neal was employed for over 50 years at President Press in Quincy. He coached Little League and Youth Hockey in Weymouth for many years and was a member of the Quincy Bald Eagles hockey team for many years. Former PER of the Weymouth Elks, member of the VFW, and Parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Claire (Walsh) Donovan, son Michael and his wife Christine of Kingston, daughter Theresa (Donovan) Papuga and husband David of Brooklyn, CT. Loving grandfather of Shawn, Matthew, Daniel, Joseph Donovan all of Kingston, and Casey, Shannon, and Mackenzie Papuga of Brooklyn, Ct. Loving great grandfather of Olivia; Loving brother of Richard (Jerry) of Weymouth, Robert of Marshfield, Jacqueline Durant of Pembroke, Janet Hamann of Arkansas, and the late Joan Weston.
Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Tuesday July 23 at 9am followed by a mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, S. Weymouth at 10am. Visitation Monday 4 to 8pm. Interment with military honors at MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
