Patricia A. Purtell

Patricia Purtell (Nestor), 85, of Whitman passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 21, 2026. Born in Quincy to the late John and Mary Nestor on September 6, 1940.

She graduated from Quincy high school shortly before marrying James R. Purtell to whom she remained happily married to until his passing in 1997. Having been a devoted wife, homemaker and mother to their 6 children, James, Debra, Mary, Kelly, Patrick and Edward. The sister of John (Jackie), James (Mike) and the late Maureen Parker. She was a loving friend, mother figure and confidant to countless others along the way.

She enjoyed helping others and traveling; her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family including 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Her last wish was that everyone celebrate her life and love by wearing bright colors and sharing her joy at finally going home to be with her lord and her husband.

Friends and family are invited to attend the celebration of life at Promiseland Family Church, 728 Brockton ave. Abington MA. Thursday, August 27, 2026 with viewing from 9 A.M. to 10:30 Followed by a brief service and precession to Pine Hills cemetery in Quincy.
