Paul G.
Higgins
June 4, 1945 – January 21, 2026
Paul Higgins, 80, of Abington, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 21st at South Shore Hospital. Born in Boston on June 4, 1945, Paul was the father of the late Daniel Higgins, the son of the late William and Mary Higgins, and the brother of the late William Higgins. He was educated at Charlestown High School in their Electrical program and then went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army. Paul spent his 40 year career as a journeyman electrician, the first 10 years at Mass General, then the following 30 years at Boston University. A devoted member of St. Bridget's Church, Paul lived a life of faith, service, and kindness. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family golfing and was the only Higgins to achieve a hole in one - Harmon Golf Club on the 7th hole with his son Michael as witness. He also longingly looked forward to spending his winters in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea with family and friends. Additionally, he loved all things football - College Football, The New England Patriots, and over dissecting the annual NFL draft with his grandson Sean. Paul was the beloved husband to Mary Higgins, with whom he shared more than 53 years of marriage as best friends and avid golf partners. He was the loving father of Michael Higgins and his wife Monica of Braintree and was the proud grandfather of Sean Higgins and his fiancé Molly McQuillan of Quincy.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, on Wednesday, January 28th, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Bridget's Church, Abington, at 10:30 AM. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery will be held at a later date.
