Paul F. "Dick" Horgan, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, formerly of Abington, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 85 years old.
Born on June 4, 1941, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Dick lived a life centered on family, friendship, hard work, and adventure.
Dick shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Marge Horgan (Duncan). Together they built a lifetime of cherished memories.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Marge Horgan (Duncan) of Plymouth, and his loving daughter, Anne Ridings (Horgan) of Sarasota, Florida. Dick was predeceased by his beloved daughters, Laura (Horgan) Strandberg and Pamela J. Horgan, who passed away recently.
He was a proud grandfather of two grandchildren Rachel Ridings and Jessica Cordiner and one Great Grandchild, Kyra Garcia, whom brought him tremendous joy.
Dick is survived by his siblings, Cynthia Horgan, Donna Conley, Russell Horgan, and Joe Keith, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his daughters, he was predeceased by his brothers, James Horgan and Dennis Horgan.
Dick dedicated 41 years of his career to the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 12. He was extremely proud of his union membership and deeply valued the friendships he made throughout the years. Most recently, he was honored to receive his 65-year membership pin from Local 12, a recognition that meant a great deal to him.
Following his retirement, Dick and Marge spent 18 years traveling throughout the United States in their RV, exploring the country together and enjoying many memorable hot air balloon rides along the way. They lived in Abington for 55 years, where they built lasting friendships with their neighbors and became cherished members of the community. Dick also enjoyed cooking for family and friends and took great pride in caring for his yard.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Abington Ale House, 1235 Bedford Street, Abington. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 12:30 p.m., with a brief prayer service at 1:00 p.m.
