Obituary

Raymond L. MacDonald of Abington, passed away peacefully Sept. 4, 2011 after a lengthy illness, age 71; Loving father of Jody L. (MacDonald) McDonnell and husband Andrew D. of Georgetown, TX, Betsy L. MacDonald of East Bridgewater, George R. Litchfield and wife Alcida of Pembroke, Kelly A. Pretorius (Litchfield) and fiancé John P. Montiero of Brockton; Loving grandfather of Samuel, Jack, Ryan and Sean McDonnell, Amanda MacDonald-Gutowski, Ashley, Alcida and Stephen Litchfield, Courtney and Jacob Pretorius, and John P. Montiero Jr., Loving brother of Shirley Perrine of Nashport, OH, David MacDonald of Rockland, Paul MacDonald of Weymouth, Paula Mary Bonfiglioli of Bridgewater, Gene MacDonald of St. Augustine, FL, Gerri Lounge of Taunton and the late Gregg MacDonald. Loving son of the late Harold D. and Mildred M. (Nowe) MacDonald and former spouse of 39 years, the late Patricia J. (Hunnewell) MacDonald. Raymond was born Jan. 13, 1940 in Quincy where he grew up and attended school. After school he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, where he was a Corporal from 1957-1963. He was very proud to serve his country. He worked at Shaw's warehouse in E. Bridgewater for many years until retirement. Raymond was a hard working man that loved his family, and was a good friend to many people. Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams St., Abington Saturday Sept. 10 at 8am, followed by a funeral mass in St. Bridget Church, Abington 9am. Visitation Friday 5 to 8pm.
