Richard D. McPhee, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully after a long illness on April 6, 2025, with his beloved sisters by his side.
Born in Boston on September 19, 1945, Richard was the eldest child of the late Michael and Marion (Driscoll) McPhee. A proud native of the city, he embodied strength, loyalty, and resilience throughout his life.
Richard honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a member of the nuclear submarine fleet. A curious and avid reader, Richard had a deep love for world events, cultures, and history. He was always eager to learn and understand more about the world around him.
He is survived by his children Kelly Bishop and Michael McPhee, as well his devoted sisters: Marilyn, Barbara, Kathryn, and Carolyn, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Richard will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, sharp intellect, steadfast work ethic, and the quiet kindness he extended to all who knew him.
A private family service will be held in his honor on April 17, 2025, at 11:30 AM in Bourne.
