Robert "Bob" Brissenden, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 23, 2025, at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham at the age of 88. Born on June 11, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, Bob spent much of his adult life in Abington before spending his final years in Whitman, MA.
Bob was the beloved husband of Cheryl, with whom he shared over 52 beautiful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his loving daughters, Jennifer Scully of North Andover and Heather Scarpellini of Mansfield, and a proud grandfather to Colin Scully, Emma Scully, Rocco Scarpellini, Julia Scarpellini, Hannah Scully, and Giovanni Scarpellini(his little man). He is also survived by his dear sister Roberta Brissenden, and his cherished sister- and brother-in-law, Sue and Ed Gottlieb. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Elsie Brissenden.
Bob grew up in Roxbury where he attended the Boston Trade High School. A proud member of the Red Raiders, he enjoyed playing Sunday football games and sharing that camaraderie with teammates and friends.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Bob ran a printing press and took great pride in his work. Outside of his career, Bob found immense joy in coaching his daughters in soccer and spending quality time with Cheryl, their family, and their lifelong friends. Whether watching Red Sox games or having meaningful conversations with his grandchildren, Bob's presence brought warmth and laughter to every moment.
He will be remembered for his sharp wit, his gift for conversation, and his quiet strength. Bob's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his humor, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street Abington on Thursday June 26, 2025 4 PM to 7 PM. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday June 27th at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Milton Cemetery in Milton.
Bob's memory will forever be cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
