Robert A. Ryan Jr. of Abington, passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2014 at the age of 73.  He fought the good fight.  Born in Boston, faithful husband of the late Margaret Ann "Peggy" (Boushell) Ryan, moved to Abington in 1972, Nantucket and Cape Cod in 1999, and then back to Abington in 2010.  Retired Employee of Verizon for 39 years.  Loving father of Michael and Jenny Ryan of Bethlehem, PA and Jamie and Tina Ryan of Abington; Beloved Grampy of Laney and Teagan Ryan of Bethlehem, PA and Nora and Faith Ryan of Abington; He is survived by his siblings Mary E. Ryan of Norwood, Richard Ryan of North Falmouth, Barbara Flaherty of Arlington and Elaine and Kevin Peabody of Mashpee, he is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany from 1959 to 1962.  He was a past president of the South Shore Eagles and the Abington Green Wave Boosters.  He was a member of the American Legion #113 and the VFW #5737 of Abington.  He was past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus #5254 and 4th degree knight of the Cardinal Spellman General Assembly #407 Abington.  Bob was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #2485 Plymouth, MA and was always there with his sidekick "Sweet Willie" Bill DeMille. "Grampy" Bob enjoyed vacationing in Aruba, spending time with all his grandkids and being part of the circle at White Horse Beach.  Bob was a faithful member of the Red Sox Nation.  He was loved by all who knew him. Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams St., Abington Saturday February 15 at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bridget Church, Abington 9am. Visitation Friday 4 to 8pm.
