Roy grew tired of high school, playing drums in the marching band, being an overachiever in academics, and life in a small town. At this time he decided to serve his country, joining the Air Force and then marrying Jennette Cook. Together they produced a son, Brian. After his tours of duty on Cape Cod and then Anchorage, Alaska, he came back home with his family to help raise his son Brian who went on to become a successful and dedicated fire fighter in northern California.
Roy navigated his earthly existence the best way he knew how. His love of music drove him to learn to play the guitar and several other instruments. He also wrote many songs, some of which are not quite fit for little ears, but good stuff nonetheless. He loved to entertain and was always ready with a song or a joke. Roy had a great sense of humor, deprecating at times, showing that there is laughter to be found almost anywhere and about almost anything.
