Sandra Ann
(Fitzgerald) Turowski
August 6, 1942 – October 17, 2025
Sandra Ann (Fitzgerald) Turowski (83) passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. Born August 6, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Durkee) Fitzgerald, and foster daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Mitchell) Harris. Loving mother of Susan, Maureen, Jennifer and her husband Peter; cherished by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Precious sister, predeceased by Geraldine (Richard) Taylor, Ruth Barrett, Jane Kennedy, William Fitzgerald, Michael Fitzgerald and Dennis Harris. She is survived by her brother-in-law Joseph Kennedy, sister-in-law Nancy (Quill) Harris and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sandra was a resident of Abington for 57 years, formerly of Quincy, Roslindale and Boston. She graduated from Roslindale High School in 1960. She worked 20 years at Fidelity Residential Solutions in Norwell as a Closing Coordinator and Financial Auditor. She also worked many years as a Bookkeeper for the Emperor of China Restaurant in Boston. She was a Notary Public until she was 80 years old.
Creative and talented, Sandra spent countless hours knitting and crocheting blankets and baby clothes. She was a gifted seamstress sewing clothes and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking and proudly attended every event for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren throughout her life
Sandra, lovingly called Sandy, will be remembered for her warmth, patience, generosity, compassion, kindness and laughter. Her compassion extended to animals, sharing her home over the years with her beloved cats and dogs.
She was a wonderful dancer and enjoyed listening to Andrea Bocelli, Elvis, Susan Boyle, and Enya. She spent many summers with her family on New Hampshire lakes and Rhode Island beaches. She loved traveling, watching mysteries and was an avid reader.
For more than fourteen years, Sandra courageously battled Multiple Myeloma with quiet strength and grace. Her family is deeply grateful to the nurses and doctors at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in South Weymouth and Boston, as well as at Brigham and Women's Hospital, for their compassionate care and support.
A woman of great spirit, she was petite in stature yet strong in heart and will - remaining active and sharp-minded right to the end. Sandra was dearly loved by her family and friends who will miss her beyond words.
A private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
