Stanley J. Mackiewicz, Jr., age 79, of Abington died unexpectedly at home on November 27, 2019. Stan was born in Weymouth the son of the late Stanley J. and Helen M. Mackiewicz of Abington. Stan is survived by his 3 children, Susan McDonald of Hanson, Debra, her husband Eric Sturge, of Halifax, and Kevin, his wife Jen Mackiewicz of Halifax. Stan is also survived by his sister and brother in law, Karenne and David Buss of Kingston. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 2 nieces and their 4 children, and his many cousins. Stan was a graduate of Abington High School, class of 1958. He was respected in his career as a licensed hoisting engineer for many years. He was a member of Local 4 of International Union of Operating Engineers until his retirement. There will be a private family memorial service at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
