He was a teacher for 43 years in the city of Quincy. He taught at the Montclair, Mass Fields and Squantum schools. He loved teaching and that love shown through his creative lessons. He remained close to his teacher colleagues over the year in book club and regular breakfast get-togethers.

He loved reading and shared that passion with his family and friends. He loved movies, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, traveling and comedy of all kinds from Buster Keaton to John Candy.
