Barbara Ann (Hussey) Doughty, 86, of Abington and South Dennis, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, in Braintree, Massachusetts, surrounded by family members.
She was born on October 1, 1937, in Rockland, Massachusetts to Richard and Louise Hussey. She married Robert Champion Doughty on August 17, 1957, and dedicated her life to raising her four children. Her friends will describe her as the sweetest, most caring, and kindest person they knew. The simplest pleasures in her life brought great joy to Barbara. She loved having homemade snacks at the house for all her children and their friends after school and before sport practices. She found passion in playing golf after her husband retired providing them with quality time together. She loved the beach and warm weather, thus, being a snowbird and having the ability to golf on Cape Cod and in Florida was a must. Barbara loved dining out with the ladies and attending shows at the Cape Cod Playhouse. She found happiness in her daily activities like walking for miles!
She is survived by her brother Richard Hussey of Rockland; son Kurt Doughty of Rockland, grandchildren Kevin Doughty and Kerrin Ambler and great-grandchildren Khloe Doughty, Kash Doughty, Naomi Ambler, and Rea Ambler; daughter Karen Carey of Rockland, grandchildren Jon Conway, Lauren Conway, and Lynn Conway and great-grandchildren Maxwell Miggins, Jameson Hogan, Lillian Wittemore, Jacqueline Conway, and Alaina Conway; daughter Kim Masters and her husband Thomas Masters of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Tim Masters and Amy Summers and great-grandchildren Thomas Summers, Scott Summers, James Masters and Isabel Masters; and son Kris Doughty of Abington.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Doughty on May 25, 2019.
