March 17, 1948 - December 5, 2019

Daniel Harrington, 71, passed in his home in Abington on December 5, 2019 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara, his daughter Kim and her husband Michael, his grandson Ryan, and his beloved dog Jack. He is also lovingly remembered by his son-in-law’s parents, Ann and Tony, his wife’s extended family both in the U.S. and Ireland, and friends and neighbors.

Dan graduated from Barnstable High School in Hyannis, MA. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. The luckiest day of his life was in September 1972 when he was working as a manager of a record store in Boston and a beautiful blonde with a thick Irish brogue came up to complain about his prices. He ended up with a dinner date and 46 years of marriage.

He loved to travel with his wife, talk about books with his daughter, watch Bruins and Patriots games with his son-in-law, and golf with his grandson. Dan loved to make people laugh, even if it was at himself, and was a master prankster.

Funeral from the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington Tuesday December 10 at 8am, followed by a funeral mass in St. Bridget Church, Abington 9am. Visitation Monday 5 to 8pm. Interment will take place in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne Tuesday at 11:30am.
