On Thursday, October 12, 2023, Dorothy Marie (White) Casey died peacefully in Weymouth with family by her side at age 81. Dottie was born in Boston on July 24, 1942 and raised in Dorchester. She was the daughter of the late James and Alice (Green) White and the eldest sister of Robert White and James White. She was a proud graduate of Cardinal Cushing Central High School in South Boston.
Dottie was the loving wife of the late Lawrence Casey for 42 years, with whom she lived and raised their three children, Allison, Kenneth, and Michelle, in Abington. She worked as a Clerk in the Small Claims Department and was later promoted to Session Clerk at the Stoughton District Courthouse. Later in life, Dottie resided at 1000 Southern Artery Senior Center. She loved travel and music, and was an avid and esteemed card player.
Dottie is survived by her two brothers, Robert White and James White, her three children, Allison (Casey) O’Keefe, Kenneth Casey, and Michelle (Casey) Runkle, her two granddaughters, Casey (O’Keefe) Cragin and Erin Runkle, and her two great-grandsons, Maddox Cragin and Mason Cragin, in addition to a great many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The phone renditions of “Happy Birthday to You” Dottie made faithfully each year to all her loved ones will forever be missed and remembered.
Visitation will be held at Quealy & Son Funeral Home at 116 Adams Street in Abington on Wednesday, October 18th from 3:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church at 403 Union Street in Rockland on Thursday, October 19th at 9:00 AM followed by interment at Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dottie’s name to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association
