Dorothy M. Delaney

Dorothy M. (Barton) Delaney of Braintree, MA, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.  She was born on June 24, 1925, in Bronx, New York.  She was the loving wife of the late Matthew L. Delaney, originally from Bronx, NY, and then Braintree, Abington, and Sun City Center, FL.  Beloved mother of her five children – Matthew Delaney, Jr. and his wife Eileen from North Yarmouth, ME; Mary DeVeau and her husband Harvey of Abington; Bob Delaney and his wife Michelle of Brockton; John Delaney of Quincy; and Edward Delaney and his wife Lisa of Weymouth.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Kevin, Sean, Ryan, Michael, Caitlin, Patrick, and Eric as well as five great-grandchildren Cameron, Emerson, Bradyn, Maverick and Landon. 

While residing in Florida for many years, Dorothy and her husband Matt enjoyed playing golf, attending parties with friends and most of all singing at local functions and shows.  More than anything, though, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her agreed that she was the nicest, kindest and most thoughtful person. 

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Thursday, March 11 from 5-7 PM followed by a funeral service.  I lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Dorothy Delaney.
