Eugene (Gene) T. Carroll, a longtime resident of Abington, born and raised in South Boston, peacefully passed away at his Lakehouse on October 27th, 2023 at the age of 87. He dedicated 35 years of his life in service to the City of Boston as a dedicated Police Officer. Gene had an enduring passion for sharing captivating tales of his service with anyone who would listen.
Gene is survived by his cherished wife of more than 50 years, Sharon (Keymont) Carroll, and their loving children: Gene Carroll of Pennsylvania, Curtis & Colleen Carroll of Braintree, Mark & Jennifer Carroll of Halifax, and Christine & Jesse Kropelnicki of Scituate. Loving Grandfather to 11 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.
He was a beloved brother to Patsy Creighton of Braintree and remembered with love by his late siblings, William Carroll, Frank Carroll, Edward Carroll, Queenie Fay, Paul Carroll, John Carroll, Thomas Carroll, & Cookie Westhaver. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his dedication to his work, Gene also had a deep love for traveling. He and his wife, along with close friends, embarked on more than 17 cruises, traveling to destinations all over the world. These adventures were a source of joy and unforgettable memories for him.
In his free time, Gene could be found at his Lakehouse on Newfound Lake NH where he cherished moments with family and extended family of neighbors and friends, engaging in boating, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Thursday November 2 from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 3 at St. Bridget Church, Abington 10:30am.
