George W LaFleur passed away on March 27th peacefully in his sleep, joining his beloved son Jason LaFleur, infant daughter Georgette, and late wife Sheila.George spent his early life in Massachusetts, growing up in Quincy with his parents, Joseph and Lillian LaFleur and siblings, Joseph, Arthur, Robert, Linda, Barbara and Kevin.
As a young man he proudly served our country in the United States Navy, learning the trade of pipe fitter and eventually running his own company.
After marrying his sweetheart, Evelyn (Grenier), they made their home in Rockland to raise their family. George is survived by three of his five children, Theresa Alix, Jonathan LaFleur, and Sarah LaFleur.
He enjoyed three grandchildren, Eric Souther, Lauren Souther and Trevor Alix.
George delighted in his family and looked forward to entertaining everyone. He would show up at gatherings with silly glasses, a hat, or even a wig to make people smile. He always brought treats or trinkets for the children of the family to enjoy.
After his children were grown George made Exeter, New Hampshire his home. There, George continued indulging his passion for antiques and yard sales, making many friends and loving life.
Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington on Wednesday April 13 from 11am to noon, followed by a funeral home service at noon. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
