Gerald “Jerry” P. Panarelli of Braintree, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Dec 6th 2020 at age 89 surrounded by his children. Born and raised in Quincy Ma., Jerry was son to the late Antonio and Francesca. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After returning home, he became an accomplished Draftsman at the Fore River Shipyard for many years, then passed his expertise on to his students at Quincy Vo-Tech. During that time, Jerry moved to Braintree with wife Anita (Chalmers, predeceased) and his four children.
Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed watching and participating in baseball and other sports. He was captain of his high school baseball team and played for many years on local amateur and semi-pro teams. He, along with and his brother Nick, were also avid bodybuilders who converted an old store on their parents’ property into a well-equipped gym.
After raising his family, Jerry embarked on a new passion, sports illustration. He created many posters, mostly featuring championships of local sports teams, selling thousands at craft shows all over New England.
Jerry was most proud of his loving son Anthony ‘Tony’ and wife Linda (Moore) of Stoughton; his daughters Fran Cleaves and husband Sean of Hanover; Dianne Panarelli Miller and recently deceased husband Glenn of Abington, Debbie Sullivan and husband Kevin of Braintree and his grandchildren Colin Cleaves, Kacie Miller and Lauren, Michael and Sarah Sullivan. He was also the youngest brother to the late Josephine Tutela, Michael, Peter, Matteo and Nicholas Panarelli.
