John “Jack” McCluskey of Abington passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday December 4, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. Jack was born in Paisley, Scotland and came to the United States at the age of 5. He was the son of the late Hugh & Mary McCluskey. Jack was the loving father to Andrew McCluskey and his wife Katey, Stefan McCluskey and his wife Becky, and Morgan Cardoso. He was the loving grandfather to Olivia.
Jack was the life partner of Deb Turner. He also leaves Deb’s son Jimmy. Jack was survived by his brother Ron McCluskey and his wife Karen as well as his nephew Mike. He will be missed by his favorite dog Maggie.
Jack always had a story for every occasion. His love of story crafting started with history. He never saw history as dates, figures and facts. He saw it as a story to be passed down. This love was surpassed by his adoration of golf. Jack was immensely proud of his career on the green, and loved sharing the game with his family and friends.
His family was the light and love that kept him going. It burned within and from him. The joy of this love was seen most perfectly in his relationship grand daughter Olivia.
Jack was a man among men. Shining with charisma and endless jokes, even up to the end. Sober, and a proud member of AA for 36 years, he was able to see those closest to him get sober and live a life second to none. He loved, and claimed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Thursday December 7 from 11am to noon, followed by a funeral home service at noon. Interment will folllow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland.
