John "Jerry" Tracey Jr.

John G. ("Jerry") Tracey Jr., 78, of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October, 3, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Louise M. (Bennett) Tracey for 53 years. He is survived by sister Anne Toland and her husband Dennis, brother Joseph and wife Helene, sister Mary Cerrato and brother to late sister Cathy Tracey. He is also survived by his 9 children: Patricia Peterson and her husband James, Christine Osborne, Jacqueline MacLean and her husband Keith, Michelle Osborne and her husband Peter, Timothy Tracey and his wife Sheri, Gregory Tracey and his wife Janell, Thomas Tracey, Andrew Tracey and Daniel Tracey. His 13 grandchildren: Devon, Matt, Zack, Aly, Emma, Cassie, Tommy, Parker, Michael, Nicholas, Patrick, Sam and Ben.

In 1957 he graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Cambridge MA. At Merrimack College he received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Economics. After college he spent the majority of his career working in the banking/mortgage industry with BayBank. He worked in the industry for over 35 years before he semi retired and went on to do consulting work in this same field.

Jerry is well known for his love of Boston sports, he was an avid athlete who continued playing softball into his 50's. What many may not know, is that Jerry had a strong appreciation of the theater. He and Louise would choose a play or musical over going to the movie theater. When he couldn't get to the theater on a Monday night he could be found in front of the TV, not watching Monday Night Football, but Dancing with the Stars, unless of course the Patriots were playing. Every July Jerry would buy tickets for an annual trip to a Paw Sox game to share with his extended family and rant about how cheap it was to park compared to a Red Sox game.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Monday, October 8th from 4pm - 8pm at Quealy and Son Funeral Home 116 Adams St., Abington.

Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 439 West Street in Brockton at Noon on Tuesday October 9th -- Burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. All are welcome to attend the graveside service.
