Liliane M. Beurskens of Randolph (aged 83), passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2023. Liliane was the loving wife of the late Jean B. Beurskens, the loving mother of Nadine Hill, and son-in-law Donald W. Hill of Abington. She was the beloved grandmother of Dr. Jaclyn N. Hill and Derek J. Hill.
Liliane was born in Brussels, Belgium, and immigrated to New York City in 1964 with her husband, and her daughter as members of the Belgian village at the New York World’s Fair, where she and her family created delicious authentic Belgian waffles.
After moving to Boston, Liliane stayed in the restaurant business and worked at The DuBarry Restaurant on Newbury Street for many years. During that time, she and her husband also lovingly cared for their grandchildren. They went on many adventures together including traveling to Niagara Falls, Canada, Disney World, and spending many days bicycling along the Cape Cod Canal.
Family was the love of Liliane's life. She counted her pets, and caring friends among those she considered family. She was fiercely loving and protective of those she cared for.
Liliane was known for her love of the finer things in life. She enjoyed fine dining, the good French face cream, and the good chocolate. She couldn't go one day without it. Liliane was known for making the best Monday family night meals with her husband and for always having bon bons on hand for dessert.
Liliane was a survivor of breast cancer and a lover of pets, therefore in lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests donations in Liliane's name to The American Cancer Society or The MSPCA.
Visitation will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington on Thursday October 19 from 4pm to 7pm, followed by a funeral service at 7pm.
