Margaret Mary “Peggy” Sullivan, 74, of Abington, passed away on November 8th following a brief battle with cancer. Born December 14, 1947 in Boston, MA to Edward and Elizabeth Prohaska (née Howeth), Peggy attended Tower Hill School in Randolph and graduated from Boston Girls Latin School in 1965. After earning her Bachelor's Degree from UMass Amherst, she was a dedicated teacher in the Randolph school system for nearly 40 years, enjoyed attending folk shows and festivals with her husband Brian, and spending time at the Island Grove with her children and later her grandchildren.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents and her brother Ed Prohaska. She is survived by her husband Brian Sullivan, her son Jared Sullivan and his fiancée Jacqueline Lang, her daughter Shannon Babbitt and her husband Christopher Babbitt, her grandchildren Brady, Skylar, Aidan, and Cameron, her niece Kristen Brousseau (née Prohaska) and nephew Craig Prohaska and their families, her brother-in-law Leo Sullivan and his wife Kathryn (née Yukna) and her nephews Ryan and Brendan Sullivan and their families, as well as many cousins.
Visitation will be held Tuesday November 15th from 3-6 pm and a Funeral will be held in her honor Wednesday November 16th at 10 am, both at Quealy & Son Funeral Home in Abington, MA. Burial to follow the funeral at Knollwood Cemetery, with reception to follow. Peggy’s giving nature and service to her friends and family led to her touching and changing so many lives. With this in mind, in lieu of flowers, please do something nice for someone who needs it, as Peggy would have done.
