Marion E Desmond

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mom.
Marion E. Desmond (Monahan ) of Plymouth, lifelong resident of Abington, MA. Marion lived a long life and passed away on January 18, 2023 at age 91.  She was one of many siblings, most who have since passed before her.  She is survived by two of her 7 children, Marilyn (Everett) Perry of Plymouth and Lisa (Everett) Harris of Bedford, NH.  Marion sadly had to endure the pain of five of her children passing before her…  Stephen Fernando, Dennis Fernando, Debbie Fernando, Linda (Everett) Capostagno and Laurie Everett.  Marion is "Nanny" to 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.  Marion very much enjoyed her occupation as a nurse’s aide at Colony House Healthcare Nursing Home in Abington for many years. She was very nurturing and enjoyed taking care of the residents there going above and beyond as well as caring for her children. She always enjoyed cooking and entertaining while raising her family.  Marion was known to many as “Mimmy” or “Mim” she used to enjoy  bowling on a league in her earlier years and has always enjoyed a good laugh or joke.  She enjoyed spending time with family and going to their homes for many years, she enjoyed going out to eat with her kids and always enjoyed the beach and being in the sun, it made her happy.  She gained a few special friends that were her own caregivers at Plymouth Harborside Healthcare in Plymouth where she resided the past 4 years.  She will be sorely missed by many, especially her daughters and family.

A funeral home  service will be held at the  Quealy & Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington on Friday, January 27 th at 12:00 noontime. Interment to follow at  St Patrick’s cemetery, Rockland so she can finally be at peace and rest with her precious children.
