Marion Hagerty Obituary

After 93 years of living life to the fullest, Marion “Honey” Hagerty of Abington passed away on July 9, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. “Honey” was predeceased by her husband Vincent Hagerty and son Tom Hagerty. She is survived by seven children -- Kathi, Fran, John, Mike, Pat, Paul and Eileen; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Honey was truly the Energizer Bunny, never wanting to slow down. Even into her 90’s when shopping, you heard a constant “come on, come on, come on” because she felt “those older people” were moving too slowly for her. Raising 8 children, she was truly the glue that kept the family together. From preparing breakfast for 8 kids every morning to regularly attending the kids’ sporting events, she was always supporting her family through her selfless love.

Honey will always be lovingly remembered for her crazy sense of humor and quick-witted one-liners that were legendary and passed on to all her children and grandchildren. She was the “Queen of Costumes,” having dozens of masks and outfits that were pulled out always at the right occasion. Whether it was the scary “old woman” mask or the footlong carrot nose used at a recent wedding, Honey always brightened the day for those around her. She NEVER acted her age and we would want it no other way.

A common unfair question asked often by her kids was “Who is your #1 child?” Till her final days, she always responded with “you are ALL #1 to me.” And till her last breath, she made us ALL feel like we were her #1 and for that we are all eternally blessed and honored to say she was the best mom and
grandmother we could have ever asked for.

A private service will be held by the family at Quealy and Son Funeral Home.
