Michael Murphy Obituary

Michael C. Murphy, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on September 6th, 2022.  Born in Boston and a graduate of Abington High School, Mike remained in Abington where he raised his family. He worked at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility as a corrections officer for many years. Most recently, he served as the Director of Facilities for PF Chang’s restaurants. He was also a trained master carpenter. Mike moved to Naples, FL in August 2021 where he pursued his dream of a life by the beach. He loved the ocean, listening to music and  the Boston Bruins. He was hardworking, full of life, and he gave the very best hugs.

Michael is survived by his parents Jim and Joan Murphy (O’Neil) of Abington, his sister Brenda Galante and family of Uxbridge, and his children: Michael C. Murphy Jr. and family of Kingston and James Murphy and family of Arizona. He was a loving “Papa” to Benjamin, Patrick and Nicholas and was adored by his family, Floridian neighbors, coworkers and many friends from near and far.

Visitation will be held at Quealy and Son Funeral Home 116 Adams Street, Abington on Thursday, September 15 from 5 to 8 PM.
