Norma Clark Obituary

Clark, Norma Jeanne, age 94, passed away peacefully at home on Sat. March 6th with loved ones at her side.

Norma was born to Noel (Cunningham) and Harvey MacNeill in Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, Canada.  She was raised in Cambridge Massachusetts along with her late siblings Teddy, Joannie, Marion and Jimmy.

Pilgrim Church in Cambridge was a chief joy of her young life.  It was there as teens that she met Billy Clark, they fell in love and later married in 1952.  They are survived by their four children Linda, Susan (Suzi), William Jr.  (Billy) and Robyn.  Each child feels strongly that they are the favorite, she made each of us feel that way.

Norma saw her husband Billy through Pharmacy school, and they later purchased and ran Parkway Pharmacy in Milton Massachusetts.
Norma graduated high school at Cambridge High & Latin School, Class of 1943.
Later in her 40's, upon the early death of her husband, Norma returned to school, graduating Mass General Hospital with her LPN, and two years later was top of her class, graduating with her RN degree as part of the very first graduating class of Quincy College's School of Nursing.  This was one of her proudest achievements.

Norma worked as a Nurse at Quincy City Hospital and upon retiring from there, she became the Outreach Worker for the Town of Abington's Council on Aging for nearly 20 years.

Always God-Loving, her Faith was of ultimate importance in her life.  She loved her Churches; Pigrim Church, Quincy Point Congregational and United Church of Christ in Abington.  She served on many committees and enjoyed doing God's work.

She is survived by her children Linda Elliott of Rockland MA, Susan MacNeil, of Warwick RI, William Clark Jr. and his wife Beverly. of Melissa Texas and Robyn and her husband Rick of Abington MA.   She is survived also by her precious grandchildren Billy, April, Lindsay Jeanne, Kendra, Brittany, Kimberly, Hunter, Kelsey, Thomas and Abbey. Also by her great-grands  Brandon, Ryder, Brooke, Hailey Jeanne, Zachary and Lydia. Also her nephew Russell, her sister in law Pat and her nieces Marion and Denice, and their families.  Norma considered Debbie and Amy, and her best friend Maureen as part of her family. Every family member lovingly referred to her as Grammy, and the great grandchildren by Grammy-Great.

Services will be as follows:  Visiting hours on Wed. March 10 from 4-7pm at Quealy & Son Funeral Home in Abington MA and Funeral to be held Thurs. March 11 at 11am at United Church of Christ (UCC is currently operating with restricted capacity seating) in Abington MA, Burial to follow at Braintree Cemetery on Plain St in Braintree.
