Dick was loved by everyone whom met him. He enjoyed gardening and doing landscape. He always called his home the “Farm.” His specialty in his garden was butternut squash. He was a self - taught jack of all trades. He loved working on houses or working outside. He always had a project going. For over 30 years he owned and operated Cushing Upholstering Company. He would travel the New England area repairing booths and chairs for Papa Gino’s. He also worked for the Braintree Cemeteries, Braintree Housing Authority, and volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Abington. Dick’s favorite place to share with family was Cape Cod. He loved spending his summers on the Cape, especially with his granddaughters. He loved having his granddaughters around. He would take them on mystery adventures to New Hampshire for a weekend of fun. He taught them how to drive a giant tractor and work in the garden and even care for his chickens. Dick also loved having fun trips with his nieces and nephews. Especially the hikes at Blue Hills every fall. He will be truly missed.
