On April 22, 2023, Rozann (Roz) Bolchalk Tennyson passed away suddenly at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Roz was born in Hubbard, Ohio on November 6, 1939. She was the only daughter in a family of 8 children, of parents Charles and Bertha Bolchalk. She was a retired paralegal and lived in Duxbury, Massachusetts, where she volunteered for various agencies such as Meals on Wheels, Duxbury Senior Center and local Catholic parishes. In her younger years, Roz was active in the Republican Party and was elected Councilwoman in North Branford, Connecticut. She lived in Ft. Myers, Florida until 1983, when, after being widowed by her husband Richard, she moved with her girls and settled in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Roz loved life and her family and was happiest when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren and close friends. She was a lifelong Yankees fan and lover of Frank Sinatra music. Roz had a great sense of humor and loved to travel - always by train, never by plane - and she loved going on cruises. Roz was very active in the Catholic Church and her religion was very important to her. When she wasn't running from place to place to be involved with her grandchildren’s activities, you could find her doing a puzzle or crossword, two of her favorite hobbies. Roz will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but especially her family, who loved her dearly.
Roz is survived by her daughter Cortney Tennyson and husband Erik Laufik along with their children Rowan and Phoebe; daughter Heather Romano and husband Tommy along with their children, Luca, Jake and Sydney; brother Albert Bolchalk and wife Susan along with numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
Roz is preceded in death by her husband Richard Tennyson; parents Charles and Bertha Bolchalk; brothers Frederick, Donald, Eddie and Raymond (Cappie) Bolchalk; and brothers Ted and Leo Younkins.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 9:00 am in St Joseph’s Church, 272 Main Street, Kingston MA. Interment will be on May 9 at Gate of Heaven cemetery, 10 W Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY, where she will be buried alongside her late husband, Richard.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Smile Train, an organization near and dear to her and our hearts.
